Naloxone Therapy in the Treatment of Cerebrovascular Disease

Abstract
In the literatures, cerebral ischemia causes an increase in the level of beta-endorphin, which somehow causes hemiparesis. If there is no infarction, this effect can be reversed by naloxone. So the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases with naloxone may significantly improve functional neurologic recovery and reduce mortality after ischemic cerebral insult in humans. Recently authors experienced clinical improvements on the cerebrovascular diseases with naloxone.
